One of the best ways to get quality backlinks is by commenting on blogs, particularly blog posts with high PageRank (PR). However, there are two types of blogs for commenting. They are dofollow and nofollow.
Oh, I’ve had a bunch of blogs cover my business, but I got no sales. Bloggers are just looking for free stuff anyway. Plus I can’t afford to send them samples or waste my time writing guest posts. Enough with these little guys, I’m ready for the big leagues.
Warrior Forum often has posters who list blogs with dofollow links enabled. You may have to search around a bit, but they’re there. The problem here is the same problems as numbers 1 and 2 above – namely these blogs get ambushed with spam and the dofollow is changed to nofollow quickly.
Because there’s a cost to these lists, fewer people use them. However, in my experience, many of these purchased lists are still spammed to death because there’s no oversight on the commenting quality. Like number 1 above, many of the blogs on purchased lists soon switch their commenting to nofollow fairly quickly.
I haven’t tried every software application that claims to locate Stream with dofollow, so I can’t say there isn’t a good option. However, I’ve been disappointed with my two efforts at using software, so I don’t bother.
Most importantly, you need to maintain the personal touch of your online blogs. Your readers want bloggers who remain honest when dealing with other people. Try to treat your online blog like an online personal diary that everybody can relate to. This way, you could surely use blogging as an effective way to make a good amount of money online.
Look at the websites for major magazines that appeal to your target customer. Lots of them have blogs (which should be an obvious target for you) BUT many of these sites also list their favorite blogs. For example: Martha Stewart has a “Blogs I Like” section on her site. Shoot, if it’s good enough for Martha, it’s probably good enough for you.
I still hate blogging. But life is not full of doing only those things we like. Use your blog if you are serious about promoting your business. And use your blog if you want to promote yourself. Don’t expect a million hits a minute but don’t be surprised if your blog turns out to be a positive addition to your web presence. I certainly was and continue to be amazed at the results.
